Isabelle Rineau No, all of my animals are rescues. I don’t understand why anyone would buy a cat. You can pretty much get any cat you like from a rescue.

  There should also be a rule where social services, police etc can make visits to houses with vulnerable children unannounced, and demand to see the children and living conditions. Do you mean legislation that means even when being refused access SW's can get in because when they are refused and it's a child protection case they have to rely in police to get access/get in. Do you not think Arthur's father, someone who should have protected and loved him unconditionally should be held accountable for killing his OWN SON or is it just easier to blame the poorly funded, overworked and overstretched services?  so many eggplant-head and ill-informed comments on this post amazed "people" (I use that term loosely) still bandy about the inaccurate rhetoric about our "amazing welfare handouts". And the level of inhumanity expressed and freely written on a public post for everyone to see scary and disturbing. This whole thing has exposed the dreadful treatment the French dish out to these people. you put up with the consequences a lot have ties to this country..via family, work (helping british forces). A minority are in hotels, predominantly budget ones. They do not receive the usual services that other guests would, like a pool, sauna, room service etc. They get meals yes, but of poor quality. One teenage boy was actually taken to hospital suffering from malnutrition having stayed in a hotel, as the food was so inadequate and inedible. Others are in shared hostels, and dilapidated barracks.

 This includes the youngest kids too. It's not a problem, teaching goes on, life goes on, special events go on, just all masked. We also still offer online education for those who don't feel comfortable sending their kids in person. And guess what - no school disruptions or closings here. Never mind that I won't be able to bear it BUT I rather we get used to wearing masks than having our children themselves or watching their friends come to school acting weird having realised a death within the family / extended family / friends. Our Governor told us we had to open up the schools, that we couldn't mandate masks or offer online education, and made all kinds of financial threats.

 We would have to be able to verify who applicants are and where they are from and their reasons for seeking asylum. This is a human rights issue and not a political football. One last thing I voted to leave the EU and I am sick to the back teeth of politicians blaming brexit for almost everything. We left the EU we do still reside in Europe our bloody country hasn’t moved so let’s hope European countries can grow up and help these people instead of apportioning blame. We should stop expecting any assistance from France. It's not in their interest to prevent these migrants from crossing the channel, and once they are in British waters they become our responsibility. France is doing to the UK, what Belarus did to the EU… Boris Johnson this would be the right time to stop giving millions to France while they do nothing to stop the illegal crossings, save lives and lock up the smugglers.

 Nikki Barltrop Yes! I’ve just seen this. It’s absolutely disgusting. You’d think even these far-right people would put their extreme hatred to one side today and show a bit of respect and decency. But no. Very sad of course but the Brits who have worked all their lives and paid a lot of tax are so fed up of all the free loaders coming into the country and getting homes and money that they have paid for over the years and they have not contributed anything. They also do not want to work and once in all the men then send for their families etc. The hospitals are full of them and no room for the Brits that have paid high taxes. Susie Mac maybe educate yourself first and then comment , otherwise you’re just spreading hate! These migrants come into U.K. for a reason , U.K. once stole everything they had from their countries most of them used to be British colonies , they have every right to come here and U.K. has obligation to help them!
