I saw a man reading a script, written to get him out of a mess, because he got caught and had no other option but to admit his mistake. A heartfelt apology comes from the heart and people feel it. It doesn't come from a script. What I saw was more contempt for the people, from a lowlife. He says he had been contacted by a friend who was unable to go to the funeral of his two-year old granddaughter, adding: "We must consider, as this goes to an inquiry and we look into what happened with Covid, whether all those regulations were proportionate or whether it was too hard on people".
