It's a song about a couple of quarreling alcoholics, possibly homeless - that is how they would speak. If you don't like it try and change reality, not the songs that reflect it. This attempt to retrospectively whitewash songs produced in a particular era is both patronizing and infantilizing. 'Younger listeners' will have a hard time coping with real-life if they cannot handle a couple of offensive terms. There are far worse going on out there than a couple of rock singers using some swear words. It's hilarious how many people on here are complaining about triggered snowflakes while being enraged at a tiny change to a song. If this is enough to ruin your Christmas or boycott the BBC, then perhaps you are the snowflake? Personally, I don't much care what lyrics they choose to run with.
